Blogs in Media Centers

I would use Blogs in my LMC by having students read books and then post their discussions. The studnets could give their feedback either in a negative or positive way. This will allow students to motivate them to read books and then give their opinions and have their peers and myself respond to their posting. This can then lead to book discussions for me as a LMS. This would enable me to see what books the students are reading that may not be in the LMC. I would continue to have this Blog in the summer if I was in a K-5 building for the 5th graders when they graduated so that they would be able to communicate with their friends and myself on the books that they where reading over the summer before middle school.

  1. I absolutely agree with you on using blogs for book discussions. You made an excellent point in saying that blogging is a good tool to find out what students are reading and what books are popular. In addition, blogging is a good tool to use for when students move on to the next school and can still keep in touch.
